Just another reason why I love sports. Not to long ago this man was nowhere near a baseball diamond, heavily addicted to crack, and on the verge of death. Now look where he is. I like what Peter Gammons has to say in the second article about never backing down and never giving up. More need to develop that attitude. The world would be a much better place if more people would “never give up” on changing their lives and becoming better people. I highly encourage reading both these articles:
It is a GREAT story. I wasn’t even familiar with his name, and I was really moved by the tale of his recovery. He had HIT BOTTOM, and still managed to climb out.
